Choose 1 Starting card from the "Neutral" or central area. This card determines the movement of other cards on the board. Cards placed in Allies are always safe and cannot be killed. As cards move out of the Neutral area new Community cards are added to the game. 

Choosing a starting card with a Faction icon allows you to play a faction card from your hand. A single faction play can have a devastating effect. At the end of your turn you always add 1 Community card to the Neutral area, then it is your opponent's turn.  After 8 rounds each player adds up the total points on their side of the board and the high score wins.

Tax & Customs

Please note, you may be charged additional taxes or customs fees based on your region. What's the reason for this? Unfortunately, due to crackdowns against tax fraud, many countries are implementing stricter foreign customs laws. 

Here in the US, we have new laws regarding sales tax due to South Dakota v. Wayfair. To read more about that case, click here.

United States

Backers in the United States will be charged state sales tax. The tax is only charged on the cost of the product, not on shipping.

Canada

Canadian backers will be charged a 5% tax due to HST, and may receive an additional tax depending on your secondary tax range which varies by province. The tax is charged on the total purchase price, including shipping. Shipping and HST will be charged separately for the purposes of customs reporting so you are not double-billed for HST.

European Union

EU backers will be charged VAT, which is 19-20% depending on your country. The tax is charged on the total purchase price, including shipping. Shipping and VAT will be charged separately for the purposes of customs reporting so you are not double-billed for VAT. 

Australia

Australian backers will be charged a flat 10% tax rate due to GST. The tax is charged on the total purchase price, including shipping. Shipping and GST will be charged separately for the purposes of customs reporting so you are not double-billed for GST.

FAQs

I backed a previous Stormcrest Games campaign and you didn't do this, why are you doing it now?

These changes are due to new laws and restrictions that have been implemented for 2019.

Are you making any extra money on these taxes?

Absolutely not. We are charging you only what your local government is charging us to get your games to you.

How do I know you have the right information?

We've spent months researching what these changes would mean for us as a company and for you as our customers. We've gone to great lengths to consult numerous tax professionals and agencies, both in the US and abroad, to ensure that we are customs compliant.

I just backed another campaign and I didn't have to do this, what gives?

The truth is they may be committing tax/customs fraud, and we really don't want to do that! Not only is it illegal but we'd also risk getting our shipments seized, which means no one gets their games.

Will I have to pay additional fees to receive my package?

If you live in one of the regions above, no you won't, since you're essentially pre-paying those fees. If you're outside the regions listed above, then you may owe additional taxes depending on your region.
